40-45 brings to Barneveld what has not been done before on this scale in the Netherlands: a spectacle musical with a moving set and moving grandstands. The production leans just as much on the language of film as on theatre. We developed not background images, but visual worlds that move with the set and grandstand, so that every scene transition feels like a camera move.

That calls for imagery that follows that cinematic logic. We developed visual worlds that move with the set and the grandstand, so that a scene transition feels like a camera move rather than a change. Depth, perspective and timing are tuned to the moment the audience shifts position.
This way the screen becomes not a background but part of the staging, and 40-45 gains the cinematic experience the production has in mind.
